Here we are at the Black Canyon of the Gunnison which is outside Montrose, CO. This is something truly spectacular. The canyon is 2700 ft deep to 1750 ft. and the water rushing at the bottom is deafening. We only know this from the movie at the visitor center. We did not go down to the bottom. Black Canyon was not a National Park until 1999.
