We spent a long time watching the bull elk bugling and keeping their harems in check. We were at the area of Moraine Park where there were many bulls with their cows. One elk would bugle and he would be answered by another. We did not see any bulls fighting. If a cow would start to stray the bull would herd her back to the group. The lone bull in the third picture was an old one with scars from previous fights and no harem. The last pic is a coyote who was stalking some small animal which he did not manage to catch. If you want to hear the elk bugling go to www.coloradoan.com to view the video.
