This is the Mission San Jose y San Miguel de Aguayo. It is called "Queen of the Missions". There are five missions along the San Antonio River. The priests brought the indians in to convert, to help build the mission and to farm. The indians were being attacked by the Apache and Comanche and came to survive. The low building below is where they lived. It was interesting to hear the park rangers history of the mission.
