This is the capitol of Louisiana. It is the tallest state capitol in the US. You can go up to the 27th floor where there is an observation deck. The view from there is quite spectacular. Huey Long had the capitol built in about 14months at a cost of 5million in 1932. He is buried there on the grounds of the capitol. (in the second picture) The third picture is the old capitol building. We were told that Huey Long had a bridge built across the Mississippi so that the boats could not go up and down the river. They had to use the port authority and therefore pay.
